Sorry!

Hey all! Im soo sorry that I haven't written on my blog in a while! God has put this on my heart to say so im gonna say it. This may sound really sad, but go with me on it. They just recently put the disney channel on my cable at the apartment and I definitely have been watching it (What can I say I am a total kid at heart!) Ok.. so is it just me or does the whole having a relationship to be happy trip that our country is on is applying to the younger set. I mean it seems like every movie and show on Disney has a relationship in it. Even Zach and Cody from the suite life of Zach and Cody have girlfriends and these kids are like twelve. Somehow this hasn't made sense to me at all. Does it to you?? God has been teaching me alot about relationships since I have been in college. I may not have alot of experience, but I have learned from friends and from God about them. Anyways... one thing that He has taught me is that He is the ONLY thing that I need to make me happy having a boyfriend won't change that. Don't get me wrong ( I know this sounds like the ranting of a bitter girl that needs a boyfriend) I think that relationships are a wonderful thing and I am not trying to nock it at all, but I think that our society is putting WAY too much pressure on young people on dating and relationships when they have no clue what they are all about or how to have one or be in one ( again I am NOT an expert on this issue im just stating how I feel). Maybe one thing that we ca do is to teach young boys and girls what CHRISTIAN dating is all about. This is something that has been on my heart for a while so.... if you have a brother or sister or just a young friend show them that having a relationship isn't everything God is everything. I encourage you if you are in a relationship to lead by example for our younger brothers and sisters.

So Iv been kind of serious with this whole blog thing so i thought that I would post something fun so here goes:

Little kids are AMAZING!

so I was volunteering in the children's ministry at my church this past weekend and had THE best time! These kids are amazing. They are so full of life and have no worries! My favorite part (besides the fact that one of the kids had the same name as me) was watching them sing songs and repeat the bible verse! I could have sat there and watched all day! God grabbed my heart and showed me His beauty! What if we all were like that about Jesus every day? Just pure joy and happiness. This is truly what God wants for us. in John 15: 11 Jesus talks about this very thing. He says that His Joy is in us when we recieve Him. Take Jesus' advice and be Joyful!

God gets bigger as we get smaller!

I have heard this phrase many many times, but it has really hit me lately. God really got a hold of me and told me that I was making myself bigger and making Him smaller and it should be the opposite. Another thing that God taught me through this that when I make myself bigger and try to take control of my life it all falls apart, but when I give God the control everything falls into place. Sure I will have bad days when God is in control, but He is there and will carry me through that situation. This is definitely easier said than done and continues to be a constant struggle for me. Satan also loves to convince us that our lives are out of control and that we need to be in control. When this happens it helps to realize that it is NOT God speaking and relax, take a deep breath and handle one thing at a time. I am not an expert on this issue at all. Like I said I struggle with this every day. Let God take the reigns and I promise you that He will rock your world. Another thing that God has put on my heart lately is to trust Him. I thought that I did, but because of my fear issues I didn't completely trust God. I was afraid that if I did then what I wanted wouldn't happen. Which is completelty ridiculous because Jeremiah 29: 11 says "for I know the plans I have for you decleares the Lord, Plans to prosper and NOT to harm you to give you a future and a hope." WOW! God's plan will bless me and it won't hurt me. That means that He has something AMAZING in store! I can't wait! Trust God completely and give up control and you will be blessed!

God is rocking my world!!

This past weekend was such an emotional roller coaster! So needless to say today I am exhausted and drained. Here are some God things that came out of the weekend:

1. Don't be anxious! (Luke 12)
2. Don't let your problems define who you are ONLY God defines who we are!
3. Don't keep holding on to something when you know that it is not where you should go in your life!
4. Jermiah 29:10-13 wow! This verse came to my head almost every day this weekend!
